Data Transfer

If you purchase a new computer or decide to start using a different device you may want to transfer your user data to your current device.  You could spend hours ensuring that all of your important data has been copied to your new device or you can take advantage of our data transfer services and save yourself the frustration!

Transferring data from a working computer (or functioning external drive) starts at $35 for up to 25GB of data. For data transfers between 25 and 100 GB of data the fee is $65 and over 100GB of data is $130.  

Transferring data from a non-working computer (or non-functioning external drive) starts at $65 and includes removal of the drive from the non-functioning device and the transfer of up to 25 GB of data. 

What’s data is included in a data transfer?

 
Data transfers include collecting the user data stored under all requested user accounts as well as any public shared data that was being shared between accounts. If you are storing data in the c: directory or use software that uses databases such as QuickBooks please inform your technician to ensure all files needed are copied.

We will manually copy and transfer your browser data. We are unable to transfer saved browser passwords on devices that are no longer booting. If your device is not functioning and you have saved browser passwords that you would like to recover we may be able to offer other services to recover them.
 

Transferring data does not include the transfer of programs all programs that you wish to use on your new computer or device will need to be installed. If you require the use of any specific software on your device we suggest a one-on-one consultation with our experienced technicians to ensure that your new device will be configured to meet your needs. We require the existing product keys or licenses to installed and activate licensed software. We can purchase, install and configure most software for you on your device.  

In some cases, we can CLONE your old hard drive to a new computer. Cloning includes programs as well as all data and settings and is not a recommended option for most users unless upgrading to a larger storage device on the same computer.
